The 2013 LeadingAge Kentucky Annual Conference will be held September 16-18, 2013 at the Galt House in Louisville, Kentucky.

LeadingAge Kentucky invites you to contribute to this important event by submitting an application for presentation.  

As a non-profit organization, it is LeadingAge Kentucky’s responsibility to keep the costs for participating in our conference as affordable as possible for our members. Therefore, we do not typically pay speaker fees or honorariums.  However, as a speaker you will gain recognition and appreciation from peers, obtain visibility and credibility in your respective field and receive complimentary conference registration and meals on the day of your presentation.  Your company will also be listed on all marketing materials as the sponsor of your presentation.

GUIDELINES FOR SUBMISSIONS

All submissions must include:

• Completed application form
• Session description. This should be narrative  style that concisely describes your presentation in 90 - 125 words. This information will be used during the selection process and, if selected, the conference brochure.
• One paragraph of biographical information.  This  information will be used in the selection process and, if selected, as your session introduction.
• Realistic learning objectives.
• Vitae and relative background information and/ or references highlighting speakers qualifications as they relate to the proposed session.

Recommended but not mandatory:

• Speaker photo
• Handouts for proposed session.  Handouts for selected speakers will be posted to a website where attendees will download prior to the conference.

Speakers selected for the conference will have a deadline of September 21 for electronic handouts to be posted on LeadingAge Kentucky's website.

PROPOSAL REVIEW PROCESS AND CRITERIA

Selection Process

Submissions will be reviewed by the LeadingAge Kentucky Education committee.  Each proposal will be carefully reviewed for:

• completeness, timeliness and accuracy
• currency and practicality of content
• well defined learning objectives that can be met in the allotted time
• credentials of the speaker
• speaker selection will be completed by June 20. Selected speakers will be notified via phone or email.

All sessions will be 1 - 2 hours in length
